Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 9, 2026  |  Last Updated: September 9, 2026

Welcome to CSE Ally ("we", "our", or "us"). We are dedicated to respecting and protecting the privacy of our examinees and users ("you" or "User"). This Privacy Policy explains our policies and procedures on the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of your personal data when you use the CSE Ally mobile application (iOS and Android) and our associated websites and services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or accessing CSE Ally, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to provide, personalize, and improve your exam review experience:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you register an account, we collect your email address, first and last name, chosen username, and optional city/province to manage your examinee profile and synchronize your progress.
  • Authentication Credentials: Passwords are cryptographically salted and hashed securely through our backend authentication provider (Supabase Auth). We never have access to your plain-text password.
  • Customer Support Correspondence: Information you provide when contacting our helpdesk, reporting a bug, or requesting assistance.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Quiz & Exam Progress: Test scores, time spent per question, completed mock exams, subject readiness ratings, and bookmarked questions are stored to calculate your diagnostic readiness metrics.
  • Device & Usage Identifiers: Operating system version, device model, app version, IP address, and basic crash diagnostics to maintain stability and performance.
  • Advertising Identifiers: In the free tier of the Service, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) may process non-personalized device identifiers (IDFA/GAID) and diagnostic data to deliver advertisements compliant with Apple's App Tracking Transparency and Google policies.

2. Third-Party Service Providers

We partner with industry-leading, privacy-compliant third-party infrastructure providers to run CSE Ally:

  • Supabase (Authentication & Cloud Database): Securely stores user profiles, encrypted credentials, question banks, and syncs examination scores under enterprise-grade TLS encryption.
  • RevenueCat & Apple App Store / Google Play (In-App Purchases): Manages subscription entitlements, billing receipts, and plan status. CSE Ally does not collect, store, or process your credit card or financial information. All transactions are securely handled by Apple or Google.
  • Google Gemini AI: Powers the "Ally AI" smart tutoring explanation engine. Questions submitted for analysis are processed transiently to generate explanations and are not used to train public AI models.
  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to deliver non-intrusive advertisements in the free version of the application. Premium subscribers enjoy an entirely ad-free experience.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes:

  • To create, authenticate, and maintain your examinee account.
  • To track your progress across multiple devices and calculate real-time exam readiness percentages.
  • To deliver instant bilingual step-by-step explanations via the Ally AI engine.
  • To verify and activate your Premium subscription benefits (Monthly Pass, Season Pass, Annual Pass).
  • To maintain app security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You have the absolute right to delete your account and all associated test data at any time:

  • In-App Deletion: You can delete your account directly inside the app by going to Account > Settings > Delete Account.
  • Email Request: You may also request complete erasure of your account and diagnostic data by emailing privacy@cseally.online. We will fulfill data deletion requests within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for individuals preparing for government employment and civil service examinations, typically aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

6. Security of Your Information

We employ robust technical, administrative, and physical safeguards—including SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit, strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies on database tables, and access control restrictions—to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and posting a notice within the app.
